Fairly Fun

The post you've been waiting for!!  County Fair, Summer 2014 edition!!  OK, maybe it's just me who's excited.  No, that can't be true.  Who doesn't get excited about the fair?!  No one!

We entered the Scarecrow division...and won first place!

Isaac was a beast in the pie eating contest!

The boys hate it when I drag them to the flower show.  You think?

Double-decker bus, Baby!

Ride 'Em Cowboy!

We took a little trip up into the hills for the Ramona Rodeo.  Never been to one.  Pretty fun.  Kinda crazy.  All cowboy.

Ablaze

Remember when San Diego caught on fire?  How many were there burning at once, eight?!  Well, this one specifically was too close for comfort.  God bless our fire fighters and first responders!

We hiked up the hill behind our house for a closer look.  Lord have mercy!

Can you believe our amazing fire fighters?!  Look at what they were able to save!  Incredible!

Enter the Fair

It's county fair time again!  Here we are delivering our entries.  I entered the "At the Fair" photography division with my photo taken the previous year at the fair.  I called it "Tom's Night Out."

Luke entered the Crafts division with his "basket weaving."  He painstakingly wove the yarn into the basket and adorned it with his prized horses. Think of all you can store in that useful basket!

Isaac entered the Game Design division.  He made up his own game, Race for the Holocrons.  He designed the game board and wrote the rules. This is totally trademarked, patented, and protected by high-powered lawyers.  Hurry!  Someone call Milton Bradley!  We're gonna be rich!

Junior Ranger

After the snow melt we made it down into Yosemite Valley.  Man, I tell you, when you round the bend and see it for the first time, Half Dome and El Capitan, it is truly breathtaking.  My pictures in no way do it justice, but I'll include them for posterity's sake.

The dogwoods were in full bloom while we were there.
What a treat!

The boys are officially Junior Rangers of Yosemite National Park!

Those clouds down in the valley were raining on us as we drove up and out.  Yosemite, I will be back as soon as I can!
