Happiest

For Christmas, my parents treated us to a day at the Happiest Place on Earth.  No, not my bed in my jammies with a book, silly...Disneyland, duh!

Whoever thought up the Jedi Training Academy at Disneyland is a genius.  It's a show they run throughout the day where kids are picked from the audience to come on stage, dress up like a jedi, and fight the dark side.  After they train for a bit, they sense the dark side growing stronger, and the white part of the stage lifts up and a super scary Darth Vader and Darth Maul jump out and challenge each kid to a light saber battle.  Wicked.

Newly minted light saber.  Showing off his new skills before the parade.

No day at Disneyland is complete without falling asleep on the car ride home with sugar drool from a lollypop as big as your head.  Thanks for a good time Grammie and Papa!

Better Man

Be at War with your Vices, at Peace with your Neighbours, and let every New-Year find you a better Man.  ~Quoted in Benjamin Franklin's 1755 Poor Richard's Almanac, December

Happy New Year from our family to yours.

Special Delivery

Yes.  That is a picture of sod.  And for those of you that heard over and over for months "just wait until we put grass in the backyard"...it has arrived!  Come and play!

FĂștbol

Isaac played on his first soccer team through an after-school program at his school this year.  He's quite a natural!  I see Soccer Mom in my future.

Neigh

Chris was so kind as to take some pictures of me riding recently.  So so grateful to have this time with the animals I love.

Siete Azul

Isaac is 6!  Yes, this is a jet cake, complete with candles lit out the back for the jet engines.  (Chris is a cake genius!)  We spent his birthday at the Marine Corps Air Station's annual air show watching the Blue Angels, so we thought the cake was fitting.  Happy Birthday, son.  May God grant you many, many years!

Roughing It

Rough.  I know.  In October we went camping on the beach.  It was the first time we all went camping together (read: Mom came because Dad begged).  I'm not the best roughing it type of person, even in a campsite with a gazillion dollar view, but I must say it was time well spent.  Good times had by all.
