This hat has been dubbed Little Bandit, mostly because that's what is embroidered on the back. It's a crazy and largely useless little toy that we cannot and will not get rid of.

Thistle Patch
No wonder Eeyore was such a grump if this is what he ate...a real live (real sharp) thistle on my favorite local walk.
Yes, we have been reunited with Roger. Man, I love that dog!
Warble of the Bluebird
For the past month, I've watched a blue bird pair inhabit this nesting box. Build the nest, lay the eggs one by one, the male bringing food to the female. Astonishing!
"Measure your health by your sympathy with morning and spring. If there is no response in you to the awakening of nature --if the prospect of an early morning walk does not banish sleep, if the warble of the first bluebird does not thrill you --know that the morning and spring of your life are past. Thus may you feel your pulse." ~ Henry David Thoreau

Purple & Fine Linen
This is All Saints Orthodox Church in Chicago, our home parish for the last five years. Before leaving, I wanted to properly document its quaint yet awe-inspiring beauty.
If you're looking for Fr. Patrick, try here first. I will forever have the image of him singing and praying the Psalms standing in front of this Bible.

Warren Peace
Allow me to introduce you to the Warrens. You've seen their faces here on the blog before, but you won't see any in this post. At my last visit to their home, I took these pictures because this is for me what makes the Warrens the Warrens.
Miriam is a star gazer. She stays up late and gets up early with her binoculars to check out the constellations. She also recently learned how to tie a bunch of different knots. I love this about her! Oh, and those jelly beans were gone after I was done taking pictures...don't look at me!
Deacon and Miriam, may God grant you both many, many years!

I Stink!
We recently had to say goodbye to some great friends of ours, Eric and Kristin and their son. Oh, and of course, their dog. We lived in the same building with them, and are better off for having met them! Isaac's favorite time with Kristin is when she reads him I Stink!
Here's their beautiful boy. I wonder where he gets his curls from?
